Tea and Chat Episode 9

June 30, 2008

Hi all,

In this episode I have a nice chat with Rick and Anne Stringer from the Variant Frequencies podcast.

I try another tea from the people who brought us Turkish Apple Instant Tea (yuck!) and I say hello to some new listeners who’ve emailed in :)

Enjoy!

  1. Many thanks for the kind words about The Plitone Revisionist (and for linking to it at Podiobooks.com!) and good luck with your prospective reading for Variant Frequencies.

I was delighted to meet Rick at last year’s Dragon*Con (a true gentleman - he introduced himself to me at Mur Lafferty’s author-reading of excerpts of Playing for Keeps).

Dragon*Con 2007 was my first experience of any kind of SF convention - my pics of the event are on Flickr:

  2. Another great interview. I was not especially familiar with the Stringers before this.

I am also now checking out The Plitone Revisionist which, again I am ashamed to say had slipped under my radar. It is as always an education listening to you!

  3. It was a good interview. Without Anne I wouldn’t be able to keep up with submissions to Murky Depths. Thanks for keeping your promise to Matt - I’m sure you will enjoy them.

  4. Simply put, Anne and Rick are two of the nicest people I’ve encountered in fiction. They are welcoming, humble, and unassuming despite the great work they do.

  5. Indeed they are. I wonder if I could adopt them? :)
